Events held in Vinpearl
|
In addition to the aim to make Vinpearl Land an ecological sea-island and entertainment resort, Vinpearl Land desires to become a center for organizing national and international events and art performances. For the last 3 years, Vinpearl Land has held many grand cultural events, especially national and international beauty contests. Vinpearl Land is therefore labeled as “the Island of Beauty”.
Miss Vietnam 2006
The contest held by Tien Phong Newspaper in cooperation with Vinpearl Tourism and Trading Joinstock Company attracted more than 3000 contestants. 34 of them took part in the final round organized in Vinpearl Land from August 16th to 26th 2006. The contest was the most large-scale and modern event of that kind ever. Its procedures were held similarly to those of Miss World Contests. Besides the Final Evening, there were 4 small competitions: Miss Sea, Miss Picture, Miss Sport and Miss Friendliness.
Tourism – Finance Ministerial and Deputy Ministerial Meeting within the APEC Summit in October 2006.
Part of the 2006 APEC summit held in Vietnam, the Tourism – Finance Ministerial and Deputy Ministerial Meeting was a forum of special importance. The fact that Vinpearl Land was chosen to host this meeting shows a high assessment by the Government and the tourism sector of Vinpearl Land tourism complex.
16th Charming Vietnam Gala
The gala was held by Thanh Nien newspaper and Vinpearl Tourism and Trading Joint Stock Company on Vinpearl’s 5000-seat water music stage. With the theme of “Moon” and aimed at raising funds for the Nguyen Thai Binh scholarship fund, the festival gathered leading Vietnamese singers like My Tam, My Linh, Dam Vinh Hung, Phuong Thanh, Quang Dung, Tung Duong... and 30 most famous Vietnamese beauties and models. Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova and Thailand’s Miss Charm On warin Osathmond also joined the big event. Charming Vietnam Galas have become well-known in Vietnam and in the region.
Sao Mai (Morning Star) Television Singing Contest 2007
The contest took place from 7 to 15, July 2007 in Vinpearl’s Event Hall and was organized by Vinpearl Tourism and Trading Joint Stock Company in cooperation with Dong Tay Promotion Company and VTV3 – Vietnam Television. This is an annual program held by the Vietnam Television and draws much attention from the public.
Final round of Miss World Vietnamese
The contest aimed to honor the beauty of Vietnamese women all around the world and served as a cultural exchange activity to enhance the attachment of Vietnam-origin young people to the motherland. The competition was held by Vinpearl Tourism and Trading Joint Stock Company, Tien Phong newspaper, Thanh Nien newspaper, and Vietnam Television. Preliminary competitions and semi-finals took place in Vietnam and other countries like Russia, Germany, the UK, and Ukraine..., and 40 best pageants were selected to gather in Vinpearl Land for the Final competition from August 22 to September 2, 2007. Miss World Vietnamese is regarded as one of the most lively and exciting pageants in Vietnam’s beauty contests.
The special competition in Miss Earth 2007
Miss Earth is the world’s 3th largest beauty pageants and takes place every year to honor women’s beauty and send a message about the need to protect the Earth. During the Miss Earth 2007 Final, a special competition in Vietnam was held in Vinpearl Land, Nha Trang. This special competition was a product of the cooperation between Thanh Nien Newspaper, Elite Beauty VN Company, Carousel (Miss Earth 2007 Organizer) and Vinpearl Tourism and Trading Joint Stock Company. It took place from October 30 to November 1, 2007 in Vinpearl Land with the participation of 30 most beautiful contestants of the final round from 30 countries.
Miss Universe Vietnam and Vinpearl Queen Beauty Contests
Within the Miss Universe 2008 in Nha Trang, a particularly interesting competition (swimsuit competition) called “Vinpearl Queen” was held by the Miss Universe Organization, Hoan Vu Company, Thanh Nien newspaper and Vinpearl Tourism and Trading Joint Stock Company in Vinpearl Land on July 2, 2008. Vinpearl Land also hosted many other events, like the Sea Party, Miss Tree Planting... during the period of Miss Universe 2008. Previously, a Miss Universe Vietnam contest was also held here to select Vietnam’s representative for the Miss Universe (International) contest.
